Our Grand Rose is a blend of our best red grapes with a bit of Brianna (white). We have been producing this Rose blend for many years; however, by popular demand, we have in recent years changed to a semi-sweet blend, when it was previously dry. To begin the process, we allow the freshly picked red grapes a short time to soak whole, with their skins on, in a cold steel tank, avoiding fermentation. When the juice turns a beautiful blush pink color, we extract the juice and transfer it directly to oak barrels for fermentation for no more than 8 months. The barrel aging increases the complexity of the wine and allows it to find a nice balance between the fruity grapes and the spicy oak. Then we add natural sweetness and allow the juices to mingle. Finally, we welcome our new fresh and fruity, semi-sweet Rose!
This Wine's Characteristics
Our Rose includes several important grapes: Frontenac (for that wild cherry taste), Marechal Foch and Leon Millot (for a red berry flavor), and Brianna (which adds the sweet candy banana feel). The percentage of each is, well… our secret! Enjoy!
Enjoy it with grilled fish, fresh bruschetta, or light pasta dishes.
