Our Piacere is a blend of several red grapes from our vineyard, with the main component in this special meritage being the Chancellor grape. This grape originated in France and was introduced in the US in the 1940’s. It is a blue-black grape, which is moderately vigorous and hardy. It is considered among the better of the French-American varietals.

This Wine's Characteristics

At 85% Chancellor, Piacere goes through a careful process to get the best out of the varietal. This bottle was aged twelve months in 100% American oak barrels. You will note plum and cedar wood flavors, a bit of pepper, with a smoky finish. It is dark in color with a rich medium body, it also has good tannic structure and ages very well in the bottle.

Pairings

Ideal for pork, wild game, fowl, grilled meats, or hearty pastas.
